Home Sweet Home- September 11, 2007

Many of you have asked to see pictures of our new home in Portland so here they are
http://picasaweb.google.com/stephenristau/HomeSeptember2007. We have two guest rooms and are currently taking reservations for the rest of 2007 and 2008!!!!

A Solo Return to the Cabin- Labor Day 2007
After nearly two months in "civilization," Stephen retreated to the cabin for an overnight ...

and hiked the Flag Mountain Trail. Accessible from the cabin, this trail ascends rapidly 1500' before leveling off along a ridge. After about 45 minutes, Mt. Hood emerges first slightly....then in all its majesty.

Look what I spotted along the way...

Check this out http://picasaweb.google.com/stephenristau/FlagMountainZigZagLaborDay2007 for more along the trail and along the Zig Zag River. Another beautiful day in the Mt. Hood National Forest.

Neighborhood Block Party- August 26, 2007

Our welcome to Portland and the NE 37th Avenue neighborhood continued with a summer block party. Dean and Colleen Moxley, the previous owners of our home, their two daughters and their grandchildren joined neighbors for food, fun, games, and music... and a courtesy visit from the local fire department.

We closed off the block from through traffic so kids could ride their bikes and scooters and so we could move into the street...

See more pics from the party at http://picasaweb.google.com/stephenristau/NE37thAveBlockPartyAugust2007.

Thanks so much to our neighbors for making us feel so welcome and for letting Stephen play his music loud!!! On to the progressive dinner in the winter!!
